Steven started his career in Financial Services in 1989. He joined a boutique organization headed up by his father, Harvey. The organization specialized in estate planning and business succession planning. Here, he learned to review legal documents such as wills, trusts and business succession plans, read and interpret P&L and Balance sheets and to apply the appropriate financial solutions to best meet the needs of their clients.

He subsequently became the advanced underwriter in the Illinois branch of Equitable where he provided agent training, attorney and accountant seminars and case design support for the Illinois branch of Equitable.

In 1999, he made the transition to full time advisor.

He earned his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) in 2001, his ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) in 2003 and the title of Retirement Planning Specialist in 2006.

He has been a contributing author for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Tax School, providing content for courses for CPA continuing education.

He has also served on the board of 2 charitable organizations in the Chicagoland area and volunteered at a no kill animal shelter training dogs and helping them to find their forever homes.

In 2021, he moved to Arizona and discovered Phocus Financial group. He now lives at his home in Scottsdale with his wife, Sandra and in his spare time is a Steward for the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy.

Retirement Planning Specialist title awarded by Equitable Advisors, based upon receipt of a Certificate in Retirement Planning from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
CLU and ChFC designations are awarded by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
